Create a Content Backlog

Creating a Content Backlog. Why is it super important for marketing strategies? So for me day-in day-out, I mean I’m working tirelessly as a lot of the time like if I go to hearing (I’m an attorney) in the morning I leave my house 6 o’clock in the morning, I’m out by 11:00 11:30. So there goes half my day where I have to get other stuff done too. But I also have to promote my business. So what did I do?

One of the things that I did is I created. Whenever I have spare moments I’m just creating content, as much as I can, whenever I’m feeling creative and just storing it in places where I obviously have easy access to it. I use Dropbox and I also just have a lot of stored content on my phone. So it’s important to just constantly be creating content and then create that backlog. If you see interesting pictures that you want to repost or other pictures here and there you don’t necessarily need to post them right away. Rather what you can do is you could save them and then use them for a later time.

Content Calendars

What you can also do is create a content calendar which has a column for a date and then for the different types of social medias that you have or that you’re using, whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube, TikTok. That way you could just constantly be having content even when you don’t have time to make the content because you’ve already created such a backlog that you have weeks or even a months worth of content or more.

Create Content Weeks Ahead of Time

If I create content, I may not be posting it for weeks because of my backlog that is automatically producing content for me. I’ve just been creating so much content that now I have an adequate backlog to keep on posting something else. It’s important when creating the backlog to have different types of categories of content. So obviously you don’t want to be posting the same thing over and over again (I’m guilty of this). I post different things like humor posts, informative, different scenery, switching it up. If I’m in court I can take a picture of the courthouse or myself in the courthouse and tag myself ,check in at the at the courthouse or wherever I’m at. Whatever I’m doing. This is so that people are just updated with what I’m doing constantly and it just keeps me in their minds. So I’m not just telling them over and over like “I’m a PI attorney, I’m a PI attorney” but instead I’m just kind of giving them a little bit entertainment as to what I’m doing and also just trying to be informative as to what I do in my area of law .

Conclusion

Just constantly be creating content and store the content. Store it in a content bank and distribute it over time so that when you’re going through lulls or you’re extremely busy, you have content. If I’m preparing for trial I really don’t have time to be marketing so much, but I already have that backlog so that things are staying consistent and I’m consistently flowing with new ideas and fresh content.

Exercise Helps You Create More Content

Exercising can help with marketing. A lot of people are working desk jobs. They’re sitting there several hours at a time, not really getting up. If you’re trying to pursue marketing and get your name out there to get your brand out there, then it’s vital to constantly be creating content and constantly being creative. Getting your name out there, whether it’s videos, posts, all sorts of stuff, articles.

So there was a study that I want to talk about that actually proved essentially that when people are exercising, they’re actually more creative. It talked about how when people are exercising that they are being more creative. Very successful CEOs like Steve Jobs was known for his walking meetings and Mark Zuckerberg was known to do exercise meetings. So essentially what the study did was they gathered about 176 students to in four different experiments and what they would do is they would try and see how the divergent thinking processes would go. This means they would give objects to these people and have certain people exercising and then ask them to think about alternate uses for the object. It showed that the ones that were exercising more we’re actually more able to think of all sorts of uses for the object which would prove most likely that exercising would promote creativity.

So if you’re struggling to produce more content or struggling to get the brand out there, something good to do would be to just go for a walk. This is not only to get yourself out of your environment, but also to get the creative juices flowing, get the endorphins flowing. You can go to the gym or take the stairs instead of the elevator, so that you’re constantly thinking of new stuff, constantly being creative. It will help get your name out there.

So essentially that’s something to think about if you’re struggling you can get out there, switch it up a little bit, go for a walk go or a run and the creative juices should start flowing. Then you can start thinking of content and help to brand yourself.

Instagram Organic Reach is Declining

I don’t know if you guys been noticing on Instagram that organic reach is kind of going straight down. It’s so difficult now to post pictures and get a ton of views. What it’s really switching to is if you look you’ll see only top hits. So posts from new sources, or meme generators, things like that.

The Feed is Dying

You’re probably going to most likely see now what it’s more switching to in order to get organic reach is Instagram stories. So if you’re posting to Instagram stories, you’ll also see it, like where your friends are. Those are where if you scroll across the top you’ll see a lot of your friends are the ones that are up there in the stories. But if you go through the feed then you’re mostly just seeing what I was mentioning: news articles and and memes and joke accounts. Things like that. Celebrities.

Build a Brand

So to build a brand, obviously continue to try and post in the feed but pay more attention to stories. It’s rough that the stories just get deleted after 24 hours but it’s still something so that you’re getting that reach and that you’re still staying in the forefront of people’s minds. People are definitely going through the stories and you can see how many views they are getting. Another tip for stories is post with engaging content. You can put things like polls or questions or chat. There are all sorts of stuff that you could put in order to engage with your audience.

Focus on TikTok

So Instagram going way way down hill with the newsfeed with the feeds. What is coming up is tik-tok. It’s definitely blowing up. It is a lot of short videos. I encourage you to check it out. That is definitely a way to get a lot of organic reach where Instagram is just kind of failing in that area now. That’s where social media is headed currently.
